I mentioned Thelma Imlay a couple of weeks ago and several people asked for her address. Send greetings to her at Thompson House, Maple Street, Brattleboro VT, 05301. She will be happy to hear from you.
Louella and I visited the Amigos Center in Immokalee a couple of weeks ago and will have to make a second trip shortly. We received so many things that it was impossible to take everything in one trip. We met a neighbor from Estero who works with the pregnant women in the Immokalee area and she explained a program they have to help them. St. Leo’s Catholic Church had delivered several “Moses Baskets” that day and they were much appreciated. It might be something we can look in to in the coming year. If you want information now, just ask Louella or me.
Edith Davidson claimed the Four Corner Postage Stamp game at last week’s Bingo. Beth Rood won the Letter X and Ralph Wright and Jim Mangold split the first half of the 15th game. Janie Griffiths might have arrived a little late but made up for it by winning the Coverall. Tony D’Agostino took home the Big Basket.
I think I picked up the Euchre results but with my busy week, I misplaced them. Bridge winners were Faye Ellingwood and Jane Griffiths and Marilyn McKay tied for second. Friday night Pinochle players had Cassie Claphan, Don Owsley and Winnie Williams taking top prizes and Winnie double dipped by winning the Door Prize; Carol Nagel won the Booby Prize.
The new Bocce Courts are really getting a workout. Wednesday there is a tournament with 32 participants and many pick up games other days. There is always someone to teach you. Give it a try.
If you are among the neighbors heading out, please leave your lamppost light burning, arrange to have your yard taken care of in your absence (even if you only have gravel) and above all, travel safely. Keep in touch and let us know what is going on in your life away from Spring Creek Village.
