Eagle i: Lely wins 3 of 4 softball games

The Lely girls softball team kicked off a busy three days by celebrating Senior Night with a 9-1 win over Southwest Florida Christian.

Honored were seniors Victoria Howard, Kiley Stoll, Romina Robles, Amanda and Stephanie Gates, Ashley Forrest, Greta Schneider-Herr and Courtney Williams.

The Lady Trojans (12-4) sewed up the game in the second inning, scoring seven runs, to take an 8-0 lead.

In the inning Ashley Gates doubled, Romina Robles tripled, Kiley Stoll doubled, Victoria Howard doubled and Amanda Gates doubled.

Freshman Lisa Feola pithed three innings without giving up a run and Jazmine Swope completed the game.

It was a nice evening and a nice way to celebrate our seniors.

On Friday we played in the Longshore Memorial Classic, losing to Academy of Holy Names, 1-0. Lisa Feola pitched all seven innings and pitched a great game. Defensively, we were outstanding, but we had a tough time adjusting to their pitcher.

On Saturday we won over Miami Carrollton, with Gabi Pozo pitching a solid game. Jazmine Swope won the game against Charlotte.

This week begins our district tournament. We open with Palmetto Ridge at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, at Palmetto Ridge. We look forward to continuing the momentum into this week.
