The Art League’s performance series, “An Evening With…” hosts local comedy duo Compton & Bennett Wednesday, May 6 from 7 to 9 p.m. Rick and Betsy will perform “Assisted Living … the Musical.” Their lively tunes and quirky humor will have you rolling in the aisles as they share their views on aging and assisted living. Join the fun by calling the Art League at 495-8989 for reservations. Tickets are $20 for members, $25 for non-members, and $30 at the door (seating available).

A new exhibition, “Student Showcase,” opens Friday, May 8 with an awards reception from 6 to 8 p.m. The artworks in this exhibition are the creations of area high school students. The show is always well attended and the public is encouraged to come out and support our young artists. College tuition scholarships will be awarded during the reception to seniors who plan to pursue a career in arts, architecture, or design.

A talented group of musicians and a roster of great tunes equal an evening of fabulous music as Quintus Quintet performs at the Center on Wednesday, May 20 from 7 to 9 p.m. A limited number of tickets are still available for this evening of old favorites and great show tunes. Reserve your seats today by calling the Art League offices.

Now is the time to register for summer camps at the Center for the Arts. With over 120 camps to choose from, everyone will find something of interest. Age appropriate camps are available for children 4 to 15. Camps run weekly June 22 through August 21. The camps are engaging, exciting and educational. Campers will learn weights and measures as they prepare simply meals in “Cookonomics.” “Earth Explorers” will give children a real appreciation of the world around them. Teens can learn the basics of design, photo downloading, and print making in classes designed just for them. A Summer Art Camp catalog and a Teen Art catalog are available by calling the Art League at 495-8989. Before camp, after camp, and a supervised lunch are available during summer camps. Scholarships make it possible for any child who wishes to attend camp to do so. A scholarship application is included in the Summer Art Camp catalog. Register your child today for a summer of artistic adventures.
