Last week I was anticipating my trip to Ohio and wondering what the weather would be. Surprise, we enjoyed Florida like sunny weather for five days. My trip was extended but I will be back in sunny Florida on Wednesday and Ohio will be back to rain and lower temperatures. I did enjoy seeing the flowers starting to bloom and trees budding out but we have that here all year long! I hope the early snow birds enjoyed that weather as well and that when we finally return north in June it stays sunny and warm.
I heard there was a little mishap with the front entry to the clubhouse. Seems someone’s foot hit the gas pedal instead of the brakes when stopping to pick up their mail. First, the stop sign was hit and now this. With so much to look at in the park, I can understand how someone could become distracted. Just be careful that you don’t become distracted when you head out of the park.
Bingo players had a good time as usual. Jim Stivers called the numbers and Debbie Gelinas won the Layer Cake Special. Edith Davidson and N atalie Balzarini split the Stair Step game. Vera Stivers and Debbie Gelinas split the first half of the 15th game and Bobbi Adams won the Coverall. Paula Reynolds is back in the winners’ circle with her Big Basket win.
Mo Mosciski and Evelyn Wright won at Euchre. Nancy Murphy won the Door Prize and Bob Rehm took the Booby Prize. Ron Sullivan and Dick D’Agostino claimed the honors at Bridge.
May birthdays are on the horizon. Bobbi Adams follows husband, Sam, by one week. She celebrates on the third. My brother, John Bowser, enjoys Cinco De Mayo and his birthday on May 5th. His grandson, Dominic LeGrange, of Reno, NV will be nine on that day as well. I am sure Dominic will enjoy a birthday cake and all the extras and I know Bobbi and John will enjoy their free birthday meal at Iguana Mia. Happy Birthday to all of you. If you know of other May celebrations please let me know so we can congratulate them too.
Louella Mosciski and I will be making a trip to Amigo Centers on Tuesday, May 5th. If you have clean, useable household goods and clothes please drop them off at Louella’s home on Mai Kai or call me to have them picked up.
The snowbirds heading north, allows for shorter travel times and few restaurant waits. The residents who stay in Southwest Florida really enjoy these benefits even though they miss many friends. The pool is much quieter and the wonderful waters and beaches of Estero Bay and the Gulf of Mexico become even more inviting. I hear that the fishing is better, too. It certainly makes me wonder why we keep going back north. Family is usually what calls us back. Grandchildren look forward to the time they spend with us and it makes the trip worthwhile. For whatever the reasons are when you choose to go or to stay, enjoy every minute of it. Life is too short to have regrets for what might have been. Live, love, laugh and be happy.
