Q: Which is your favorite Smokehouse Bay bridge design?

After reviewing the various proposals, I favor the design by T Y Lin as the best replacement for the current span. It has one of the highest clearances, sufficient walkways, and better appearance.

I’m leaning toward the Lochner proposal. It has the widest horizontal clearance and nice vertical clearance. The less constriction, the safer it is for boaters.

It’s tough. Esthetically, we like the TBE bridge. We would choose Lochner for the clearance. It depends on your perspective.
