Call to artists: Left Bank Art Fest

Experience Paris in Marco Island as the Marco Island Foundation for the Arts (MIFA) presents the Left Bank Art Fest at the Esplanade.

Free to the public, this one day event will take place from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m., Jan. 16, along the waterfront and elsewhere at the Esplanade, 800 N Collier Boulevard.

Three categories of artists will be presented: Youth (children and students through high school senior), amateur and professional. Original paintings, drawings, photography, mixed media, sculpture, fiber arts and printmaking are eligible. No crafts. Artists interested in being part of this event should fill out the form (download from the MIFA Web site: marcoarts.org), and mail it with the appropriate fee.

New artists should also submit three photos of their work. Send application and photos to: MIFA, P.O. Box 1091, Marco Island 34146, postmarked by Jan. 9.

“This is a fun event,” said Carol Kinkead, chairperson of the event. “We encourage Sunday painters and students to apply. The only charge will be the entry fee. Space will be on a first come first served basis. Tents are not encouraged due to limited space availability.”

Entry fees range from $20 for youth to $50 for amateurs or professionals, and are reduced by $10 for members of the Marco Island Foundation for the Arts. Non-member Artists may save $10 by joining the Foundation when they submit their entry form.

For more information visit the Foundation Web site at marcoarts.org or call Carol at (239) 642-8280.

All proceeds benefit programs of the Marco Island Foundation for the Arts, Inc., a non-profit 501(c)(3) charitable corporation.
