Longtime Naples restaurateur Chrissy Bianchi-Rabil, with her husband Fadi Rabil, has opened a fourth restaurant in Naples – Chrissy’s by Day, Bianchi’s by Night. The 110-seat eatery, with both indoor and outdoor seating, boasts handcrafted tables carved by Fadi himself. The new building is a labor of love for the entire family.
The couple purchased the building and took the time to decorate the inside. Chrissy’s mother, Shirley Bianchi, designed the café-style window treatments and her father, Victor, tends to the flowery grounds and herb garden out front with potted basil, cilantro, parsley and rosemary.
Lunch dishes range from fresh salads, sandwiches and pastas, and the dinner menu includes fresh, Italian-Mediterranean style dishes. Proven favorites are there, such as Chrissy’s favorite salad – with mixed greens, grilled chicken, fresh fruit, tomato, cucumber, caramelized pecans and bleu cheese crumbles, with a homemade blue cheese vinaigrette dressing – as well as bananas Foster, French toast and southwest chicken and corn soup.
Other menu highlights at lunchtime include stuffed pineapple salad – a fresh wedge of pineapple, stuffed with homemade chicken salad and served with fruit, cottage cheese and a choice of homemade breads. The crab melt sandwich, with lump crab cakes on grilled English muffins with sliced tomato and melted Swiss cheese, is sure to please.
At night, patrons can order pasta dishes such as Frutti di Mare – linguini tossed with shrimp, scallops, calamari and mussels in garlic, white wine and tomato sauce. Other entrees include items such as steak Portobello, grilled lemon salmon and eggplant Parmesan, all served with potato and vegetables with a choice of Caesar or garden salad.
The seemingly schizophrenic idea of two restaurants under one roof might just turn out to be a stroke of genius, capitalizing on two different types of diner. Chrissy’s philosophy is, “For the best performance, you can’t do everything yourself – you need people who support and complement your skills.”
Fadi added, “We want to give our customers an experience that is innovative and offers the highest quality food, yet is practical and fair on the pocketbook.”
When Chrissy isn’t working at her restaurants, she spends time reading and studying different cuisines. She loves that her longtime patrons support all restaurants, saying, “I like it because I feel like I’m at a party every day. My friends are with me, and I’m laughing.”
