Island Trends joins Project Rescue

— Island Trends, owned by Skip Chustz, joins the 45 businesses already participating in Project Rescue to Save Marco’s Art League.

Island Trends Christmas sales theme, “Tis the season to give and receive” features 10 percent off your regular price purchase and Island Trends gives a 10 percent donation to Project Rescue, Saving Marco’s Art League campaign.

The sale is in affect from Dec. 16 through 19 and all patrons of the arts are encouraged to shop Marco first and make your gift purchases at Island Trends and the businesses supporting the Art Leagues efforts. Island Trends is located at 938 Collier Boulevard.

Businesses in Support of the Art League is one of the five ongoing programs to Save Marco’s Art League to eliminate the League’s $100,000 line of credit. Program chairman, Dave Rice, a past president of the Chamber of Commerce is optimistic that Marco Business owners will respond to the call.

Stated Rice, “The Art League’s existence has a tremendous financial impact on property values and business; property owners and business owners expect our city to have first class services such as police, fire, medical, shopping and culture; take away any one from the equation and Marco is not the attractive destination we want it to be.”

Business in Support of the Art League encourages businesses to provide financial assistance to the Art League as a partnership, with business and the League both benefiting.

Rice explains, “We are encouraging businesses to offer special shopping days whereby a percentage of sales would be donated to the Art League or that a portion of the sale of a designated item(s) be donated. Service businesses are encouraged to become a partner by offering a donation to the Art League for every new customer they obtain in a given period of time.”

While shopping at our participating businesses, purchase tickets for the Monthly 50/50 Raffle to be drawn at the First Tuesday Art @ 5 Socials at the Art League at 1010 Winterberry Drive. Winning tickets in November and December averaged $545! The next Art @ 5 Social is Jan. 5. Admission is $5 for members/$10 for guests and features complimentary wine and snacks. A fun social event, in addition to the 50/50 Drawing, the arts is always a highlight whether through exhibits, demonstrations, or musical performances. January’s First Tuesday event is sponsored by Total Home Services, David Rice, Jr., President, in addition to our annual sponsors Marco Eagle and Naples Daily News, and Marco Island Florist.
