Interview with owners of new Marco store

Name of business: Obsession, Inc.

Company location: Marco Island Town Center Mall

Owners: Sharon Reiman and Janet Keefe

Years in business: Six weeks

Hours: Monday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.; and Sunday 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Products and services: Ladies clothing, accessories, shoes and jewelry. The owners describe it as a “complete ladies boutique.”

Brand names include Dior and Gucci sunglasses, Miss Me Jeans (exclusive to Marco through this store), and the David Kahn line. Keefe says the store in essence carries everything from evening wear to T-shirts with a broad price range to suit all pockets

Company goals: To maintain a store on the island that caters to all ages. A Web site is being planned, and the store already is able to ship goods. Additional clothing lines are also in the cards.

Comment: Keefe: “We want to emphasize our quality. I have done clothing retail for 30 years. We worked really hard to buy reasonably priced goods that were quality.”

Reiman: “Janet and I met four years ago and clicked. She’s a master merchandiser, and I handle most of the paper work. My daughter (Jenna) also has experience in management. And between the three of us, we’ve managed to run things pretty smoothly.

Now that we’ve filled the store, we’ll have more time to plan ahead for shows. We want to go to the New York, Dallas and Las Vegas fashion shows.
