The coverage was interesting, but I think we’ve seen and heard enough by now. He was a very talented artist. He was a little eccentric, and it increased over the years. I liked songs like “Billie Jean,” and the moon walk and all that stuff. The really sad thing is the children, and all the legal stuff they’re going to have to go through in the future.

It was a shock when he died, but I think the coverage was over-hyped. You’re going to give away tickets to go to your son’s or brother’s funeral? I mean, come on. You didn’t hear much about Farrah Fawcett (who died around the same time). I liked his music, particularly the older stuff like “Thriller” and “Billie Jean.”

The coverage was a little overdone, not necessarily too much, but there were other people who also passed recently, like Farrah Fawcett and Ed McMahon, who didn’t get that kind of coverage. Through the years, I was a fan. I also liked his older stuff like “Thriller” and “Billie Jean.” He had the ability to foresee where the music industry was going.
