PHOTO GALLERY: Friends of Tigertail Beach, Inc. Quarterly Cleanup

Volunteers descended on Tigertail Beach Saturday morning for a quarterly cleanup. The cleanup could not have come at a better time. The wreckage from the 28-foot Pearson sailboat that ran aground July 6 was strewn up and down the beach. Volunteers gathered debris from the sailboat along with other items littering the beach. The cleanups are designed to help keep Tigertail Beach pristine and are organized by the Friends of Tigertail Beach, Inc. The next cleanup opportunities will be the Ocean Conservancy International Coastal Wide cleanup on Sept. 19 and the quarterly cleanup on Dec. 5. These next cleanup opportunities are very important for the health of Tigertail Beach because of the increase of debris that washes ashore during hurricane season.
