Restoring the Naples Depot

Project aims to recreate 1927 look

Workers are hammering away at a restoration project at the historic Naples Depot. The goal is to restore the building to the way it was in 1927 when the first Seaboard Air Line train arrived at the station.

The restoration work has been an ongoing process in the last couple of years, but this latest phase of the project just began at the end of June. The Naples Depot Museum, which is operated by Collier County, will host brand new exhibits with a transportation theme once it is completed.

"It's going to be a fantastic museum," said Gary Vincent, museum manager. "We have a lot of Naples specific artifacts that will be incorporated into the exhibit."

Tour the restoration efforts and learn more about the museum plans in the Studio 55 video report available in the player on the left.
