GOODLAND — Collier County sheriff's investigators are asking for the public's help in identifying a man found dead in mangroves near the Goodland bridge on Saturday.
An autopsy was conducted Sunday, but a cause of death could not be determined due to the condition of the body, investigators said.
Investigators were still waiting Tuesday on some fingerprint examinations to be completed.
Investigators said the man was 5 feet 11 inches to 6 feet 2 inches tall. His race and age have yet to be determined.
The man appeared to be missing an upper front tooth and may have had an abscess in his lower left jaw. He had a surgically inserted metal pin in his left hand, investigators said.
He was wearing extra-large-size black cotton shorts that tied at the waist and possibly had paint stains, investigators said.
An investigation continues.
Anyone with information is asked to call the Collier County Sheriff's Office at 252-9300, or if you wish to remain anonymous call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-780-TIPS (8477).
