Letter to the Editor: Thank you for Derby support

Dear Citizens of Our Community: We Americans can be counted on for a number of things. Not the least of which is our generosity. In difficult economic times like these there were a number of local businesses and individuals who very graciously extended their time and money towards our annual ‘Talk Derby to Me’ charitable event.

We would like to publicly thank those businesses and individuals, who, without their support, this event would not have been possible.

A big Thank You to General Manager Kreg Kimmins and Mike Sweeney from Guy Harveys for virtually turning over their restaurant to us and providing the delicious food and great service that we all enjoyed.

A special thanks to all of our horse sponsors: Charlie Assortato, Stephen & Elaine Cormier, Crazy Flamingos, Exit Charde Realty/Joe Charde, Will Dempsey, Kevin Denti, General Concrete, Wayne & Liz Henuset, IBR, Paul & Robin Kelley, Kinetico Water, Robert & Barbara Lovett, M5 Insurance Group, Marino & Scola Consulting, Nacho Mamas, Robert Stoico, Glen Schwesinger, Wall Street Wrap Up, and William & Karen Young.

Thank you to all the local establishments and residents who donated auction prizes, time, and gifts: Kathy Scheetz, Danny Dauber, Sunshine Ace Hardware, Angelica’s Boutique, CJ’s on the Bay, DaVinci’s, Foxboro’s, Hilton, Island Garden Center, Marriott, Koszo Productions, Marco Island Florist, Paradise Sports, Salon Botonica, Ravenair, Ritz-Carlton at Key Biscayne, Frank Setera, Kelly Sullivan, Marco Island Sun Times, Vandy’s, Mary Warder, Sandpiper Clothiers, Paradise Sports, and Marco Community Bank.

Many thanks to Greg West as the tireless and extremely entertaining Master of Ceremonies. And thank you to Howard and Michelle Jordan for obtaining Horse Sponsors, and donations and to Howard for taking all of the fabulous pictures which will be the lasting memories of our wonderful time.

We are pleased to be able to provide opportunities for children and families to participate in experiences which foster family values. And, we’re happy to say that as this year’s event raised more than the previous years, we are eternally grateful to everyone who made it happen!

Look out for the upcoming Upon A Star sponsored camps:
