Young players, from as far away as Tampa, competed in the USTA Junior Rookie Tennis Tournament at the Marco Island Racquet Center on Saturday.

The tournament was to gain points toward USTA Junior rankings. Some may have played in a tournament, but were not experienced. No one was below a USTA 200 ranking. Overall, 24 kids competed.
