We have been Marco residents 39 years. We have witnessed many good and bad since. There used to be people in Naples who had a beautiful parrot that would fly over their car as they drove downtown and sit on their car while they shopped. A passer-by went in a sports shop and bought a long-handled fishing net and threw it over the parrot — between squawks, the parrot yelled help. The owner came out and rescued the parrot.
Our good friend Ed Day campaigned for cityhood, promised the new City Council would be more resident friendly. “Have they?”
Pardon my writing, haven’t fully recovered from stroke. I will be 92 on 11-26-2009. Hope this old news might start a new column.
