Ready for some football?

Jr. Trojan Camp begins Monday

The Jr. Trojan Football Camp begins on Monday. The camp runs for two weeks, from 4 to 8 p.m., Monday through Thursday.

It will be a full contact (with pads) camp with emphasis on basic football fundamentals of blocking and tackling, along with breakout-by-position groups.

The camp will be directed by Steve Pricer, Lely High School head football coach and his staff, assisted by members of the Marco Eagles football staff. Campers also will be involved in speed and agility drills, along with conditioning instruction. There will be classes on nutrition, film breakdown and mental preparedness.

The Marco Eagles football teams begin summer practices on Aug. 10, with the first game on Sept. 12.

The Naples Seahawks joined the league and will field two teams for the upcoming season. The Seahawks will play their home games at Community School of Naples. They will play against teams from Marco and First Baptist Academy.

Cost of the camp is $100 for one week, or $150 for two weeks. Financial aid will be available on a first-come-first-serve basis.

For more information contact West at 825-7592, or g.west1@comcast.net. To register online go to marcoeagles.com. Sign-ups also will be accepted the day of the first day of camp.
