MARCO ISLAND — City, county government offices are adjusting their service schedules for July 4, Independence Day holiday.
There will be no collection of garbage, recycling, bulky/electronic items, or yard waste on Saturday, July 4 in the unincorporated areas of Collier County served by Waste Management, including the City of Marco Island and Everglades City, or Choice Environmental Services, which is in the Immokalee area, announced Margie Hapke, the public information coordinator for the Collier County Public Utilities Division. Collection will resume on the normal schedule beginning Monday, July 6, she wrote in a prepared release Friday morning.
Marco's Public Information Coordinator Lisa Douglass said City Hall and city offices will be closed Friday, July 3, with normal hours to resume Monday, July 6.
Collier County School District offices will be closed on Friday for the remainder of the summer.
Marco Island Library, 210 South Heathwood Drive, will be closed Friday, July 3, to observe the holiday, and is closed as usually scheduled Saturday.
