COLLIER COUNTY — A 38-year-old Michigan man, who previously lived on Marco Island, has been extradited to Collier County where he is facing accusations that he raped a young girl several times over six years.
On Sunday investigators from the Collier County Sheriff’s Office charged Donald Scott Anderson with two counts of sexual battery of a victim 12 to 17 and one count of lewd and lascivious molestation of a victim 12 to 16, all felonies.
Anderson’s arrest report lists an address in Kalamazoo, Mich., though Collier authorities say he previously resided on Marco Island. Authorities say the assaults took place on Marco Island and in Tennessee.
On Feb. 20, investigators met with the girl who told them that Anderson had sexually assaulted her “several times” since she was five years old, with the most recent assault taking place over a year ago, the girl said.
Reports indicate Anderson started raping the girl in 2002.
Anderson was previously arrested in March 2008 on Marco Island, when he was charged with kicking his wife, whose name was redacted from reports. The battery charge was later dropped.
According to his most recent arrest report, Anderson is now divorced.
