I wrote a letter just like this last year. I would really like to let the Islanders, know that the people that are working on this project don’t want to be there anymore than you want them there. Trust me, they are not doing this to make the already miserable people more miserable.
Funny, how some folks forget. Take some of the golf courses/country clubs etc., down there, I am sure some of you have been or are employed by some of these places. They are beautifully done. Someone had to do the work on those places, before they became beautifully done or able to supply jobs to the public.
Would it make sense to put asphalt down or landscaping prior to laying sewer and water? If some of you would simply take a moment to realize that these men are doing a job, your precious paver bricks, sod, mailboxes etc., will be replaced and/or fixed when everything that needs to go into the ground is in place. It is a shame, because there are actually some very nice folks down there on the island; then there are those that are just plain unhappy and seem to think everything is about them. Go to the other side of Marco and ask some of the residence over there if they are happy with their restoration. Otherwise, go chew on some more sour grapes.
