Internationally-acclaimed sculptor Francoise-Marie Thein is displaying her newest works in fused glass and polymers at the SideStreet Artists show, today (March 7). Local portrait and mural artist Nancy Krchniak, and Leigh Herndon (who creates silk sarongs, scarves, wall hangings, and custom silk garments), are in the show, along with Lorraine Weiss’s wearable works of art made with semi-precious stones, sterling silver and vermeil. Today’s show includes glass art, photography, pottery and paintings. This free show is held on the first Saturday of each month, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Bonita Shores Club, 315 West Avenue, just off Bonita Beach Road. For a list of the artists, photos of their work, and information on upcoming events, please visit www.sidestreetartists.org. Qigong Master Ou Wen Wei presents classes and treatments at the Shores Club on March 13, 14 and 17. His visit is sponsored by Susan DeFlavis, who was honored for her Qigong contribution at the Bejing International Health Forum last October. For more information, call 239-947-3977.

Our bridge sessions are open to anyone who plays. We do not give lessons, but players are welcome at the 1 p.m. Wednesday or Friday bridges. Our duplicate bridge does not award points, but we do have prizes. With duplicate you need a partner; sometimes Jo can help you find one. Duplicate bridge is at 7 p.m. Tuesdays and 1 p.m. Thursdays. Our rates are $3 for regular bridge and $3.50 for duplicate, with a savings for club members. Call Jo for details at 992-2512.
