Meals on Wheels of Bonita Springs held their annual meeting in January at the First Presbyterian Church. Board officers and directors were installed for the coming year. The president is Charlotte Friede, vice president is Marietta Davis, secretary is Charles Green and treasure is John Steffen. Marie McPherson and Dottie Reynolds will continue as coordinators. Two new board members will be joining the board at the next board meeting and they are: Lee Rattigan and Pat Leggett. Re-elected board members are Bill Oehler, Bob Fiedler, Bobbe Hickman and Martha Micelle. Dorethea Trump was made an honorary member after serving on the board since it was started in 1974. She was a driver and then became a board member.

Meals on Wheels is a non-profit organization run entirely by volunteers. The volunteers use their own cars and gas. Meals are delivered five days a week and double meals for the weekend. Meals cost $3.25 or are adjusted to the financial ability of the client. In 2008, the group delivered 9,506 meals to those who were home bound or recovering from an illness or surgery. Anyone need this service can call Marie at 992-3543, or Dottie at 992-4708.

Contributions to help support this program can be sent to John Steffen, Treasurer at P.O. Box 3006, Bonita Springs, FL. 34133.
