LEE COUNTY — Interstate 75 will be closed between Corkscrew and Alico roads Friday evening and Saturday morning for the installation of steel beams for Lee County’s Estero Parkway Extension project, according to Lee County Department of Transportation.
The lanes are expected to be closed from 11p.m. and 5 a.m. for the project.
During the closure, northbound interstate traffic will be diverted onto Corkscrew Road and up Ben Hill Griffin Parkway, and southbound interstate traffic will be diverted onto Alico Road and down Three Oaks Parkway.
In addition, it’s anticipated that the larger beam will be installed on Saturday night, which will require closure of the same section of I-75, officials said.
The delivery of both beams will be by slow-moving, wide-load trucks escorted by law enforcement, and will be entering Lee County via I-75.
Motorists should drive with extreme caution.
