PAUL H. DAVENPORT
February 26 proved to be a day for the history annals of Leisure Time Park. The evening found our clubhouse bursting with residents and guests. The parking lot overflowed with autos, golf carts and bicycles. The air inside was saturated with anticipation and senses were keenly honed as only an event of such unimaginable magnitude could birth. A hush fell over the masses as the appointed time of this long awaited event drew nearer. The clock struck 7. People held their breath while perched upon the edges of their seats. The suspense heightened to a crescendo. The fevered pitch was nearly unbearable. It was now time. Time to begin our Variety Show.
By “variety” I mean V-A-R-I-E-T-Y! We had acts including (to name a few) dancers, singers, comedians, musicians, storytellers and impersonators. Some were bold. Some were fun. Some were risqué and tawdry. All were entertaining. Thanks to each of you who gave your time and energies for our benefit. Well done.
There are now rumors afloat that next years show may include illusionists, exotic animals and possibly the return of our world-famed nude contortionist team. The anticipation, understandably, is beginning anew. With that in mind we would like to invite each resident to let your creative juices flow, throw away inhibitions and get your act together for next years Variety Show at LTP. We look forward to seeing you there.
On February 25 we were provided pizza by M.A.S.A. (Medical Air Services Association). Prior to dining we were informed about their companies history, services and affiliated costs for the transportation to and from hospitals aboard jet aircraft from any point around the globe. Helicopter and ambulance transportation is also available.
February 27 brought a delectable stir fry dinner to LTP. Attendance was great but the table fare was better. You guys and gals doing the cooking and serving do a bang up job.
