A 47 year-old man was arrested after deputies say he stole a car from his former employer Wednesday evening.
Amr M. Elmattary, , 1011 Anglers Cove Unit #H405, Marco Island, was charged with grand theft auto.
A CCSO community service deputy spotted a man driving a gray Ford Crown Victoria that was reported stolen earlier in the day by a Marco Island business on U.S. 41 East.
Deputies ran the car’s tag, confirmed it was stolen and pulled over the driver, Elmattary.
Elmattary told deputies his former employer, Unlimited Airport Rides, gave him permission to drive the car, according to reports. Deputies contacted the business’ owner and learned that he did not give Elmattary permission to take the car and wished to press charges.
