EAGLE i: Rotary presents Spirit of Marco awards

The Rotary Club of Marco Island (noontime club) is recognizing six citizens and organizations that embody the “Spirit of Marco Island” through their community involvement by their volunteer work, participation in civic groups, and also through their financial support of Marco Island causes.

Our awards are being tailored after the Golden Apple teacher awards, whereby the recipients’ are surprised in a public location (i.e. their place of work or civic group) and are presented with a certificate.

All the winners will be formally acknowledged at our official Spirit of Marco Island Awards Night Dinner & Silent Auction to be held April 17, at the San Marco Catholic Church Parish Hall.

Five of the six winners have already been presented with a certificate and they are: Mike Minozzi, Bill Young, Marco Community Bank, Reverend Kyle Bennett of St. Marks Episcopal Church and Howard Jordan.

The Rotary Club of Marco Island is very excited about this event as it allows us an opportunity to publicly recognize six individuals and organizations that contribute so much to Marco Island.
