Exercise may increase your longevity, according to a recent study reported by the Washington Post. And yoga has been noted (in the Journal of the American Medical Association) as one good method to relieve and prevent arthritis symptoms. Celena Marshall now offers a new yoga class on Friday mornings at 9 a.m. at the Shores Club, in addition to her Thursday class at 9 a.m. Celena’s beginner-friendly yoga focuses on joint function, breathing capacity, balance and alignment. Through the Club’s various healthy activities, you can keep a youthful glow, while having fun with health-minded friends. Line dance, yoga, tai chi, and arthritis exercise groups can help improve your flexibility, coordination, memory, and mental clarity. Celena says her classes are "challenging, yet light-hearted and innovative, while honoring the traditional roots of yoga."

April 15 is the final day to submit applications for the $1,000 college scholarship. This grant is for a high school senior, living in the Bonita Shores/Little Hickory area who will graduate this spring and is accepted into a credited institution of higher learning. Send a complete resume to Jo Kettles, c/o Bonita Shores Clubhouse, 315 West Ave. Bonita Springs, FL 34134. Another deadline occurs April 15th, as you know, whether we like it or not. To cushion the blow, we have tax return specialists assisting seniors on Mondays and Tuesdays from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., at the clubhouse. This is a free service provided by AARP, and donations are welcome. The annual Easter egg hunt is on Saturday, April 4 at 10 a.m. Children have enjoyed this adventure at our clubhouse for the past several years. Monday night bingo will continue as long as there’s an interested group attending. It usually goes on until the end of April.
