The Art League’s annual luncheon will be held this Friday, March 27 at Spanish Wells Country Club from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. A special presentation, Leadership Awards in the Arts, will take place during the luncheon. This year’s honorees are: Jean Alexiou, Polly Nesi, Jo Beightol, Paula and Tom Falciglia, Joe Cooper, Frank de la Roche, Steve Kravec, Marilyn and Bill Lightner, Lutgert Companies/Premier Properties, Merrill Lynch/The Green-Smith Group, and Marie Tranovich. Celebrate with the honorees as the Art League thanks them for their many contributions to the arts in our local communities and Southwest Florida. Reservations are a must so call 495-8989 today to enjoy a delicious lunch with members and friends of the Art League. Tickets are $37 per person.

Receiving for "Art Focus" is scheduled for Tuesday, March 31 from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. The juried competition is open to all Southwest Florida artists. A prospectus is available at the Center for the Arts or on-line at www.artcenterbonita.org. An awards reception and campus-wide open house will be held April 3 from 6 to 8 p.m.

"An Evening With … Latin Night" is April 1 from 7 to 9 p.m. Join the fun as Tony Pastrana and New York Latin Jazz entertains the audience with their lively Latin sounds. Erin Dunbar and Jessie Garcia will spice things up with a series of dance numbers including the rumba, chacha, and samba. Then the audience will have an opportunity to dance and enjoy the rhythms of Latin Night. Tickets are $20 for members, $25 for non-members, and $30 at the door (seating still available).

A new session of classes begins the week of April 6 at the Center for the Arts. Adults can choose from a variety of painting classes, sculpture, fused glass, photography, and more. A course catalog is available at the Art League offices or can be downloaded from the organization’s Web site: www.artcenterbonita.org.

A five-week session of children’s classes also begins the week of April 6. A diverse assortment of classes is available for ages four to fifteen. Each class is designed to provide age appropriate projects. Classes include Global Explorers, Digital Photo & Downloads, Cartooning, Mommy & Me and other exciting artistic adventures.
