Another week of exciting things to do at the Greater Marco Family YMCA!
Adult coed volleyball is played every Monday night at the Y airnasium. Teams are sponsored by area businesses and include Gone Fishin’ Charters, Rookies Bar, Rookies Grill, Jukebox Productions, Marriott Marco Island Beach Resort and Spa, ARA Insurance and Marco Island Charter Middle School. Teams that won include Rookie’s Bar, Rookies Grill and the Marriott. Come on out and root for your favorite team. Games are played at 6, 7 and 8 p.m.
Monday at 6 p.m. is Rookie’s Bar vs. MICMS, the 7 p.m. game has Jukebox Productions taking on Rookie’s Grill and in the 8 p.m. nightcap is Gone Fishin’ Charters up against ARA Insurance. The season continues up to the Championship Game slated for May 18.
The Greater Marco Family YMCA is proud to announce the formation of a Girls Volleyball League. The YMCA Youth Sports program teaches sports with the value of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility. The Y emphasis is on fun, fair play, skill development, and teamwork — not competition. This league will be played between teams from our Y and the YMVA of the Palms (Naples). Three different tiers of teams will be formed. Youth volleyball will be open to 7-9 year olds, pre-teen volleyball for 10 and 11 year olds and Middle School teams for those 11 through 14. Registration is ongoing though April 6. The season time frame is from April 13 through June 6. Three games will be played in Naples. Cost is $55 for members and $90 for others.
Little Tykes Basketball returns to the Y starting April 17 through June 6. Little Tykes is open to 3-4 year olds and all games will be played at the Y.
Register now through April 10 at the customer service desk. Another exciting program available to register for is the YMCA of the Palms and Greater Marco Family YMCA basketball. This league is divided into two groups: The first is youth basketball for 5-14 year olds. Registration continues through April 8 and the season runs from April 13 to June 6. Cost is $55 for members and $90 for others. High school basketball is also offered for those ages 14-18. Registration continues to April 8 and the season runs from April 17 to June 12. Costs are $50 for members and $65 for others or enter a team for only $300. Games begin on April 25 with 2 games to be played in Naples on May 2, 16 and 30. Playoffs begin June 13.
Are you or do you know someone looking for employment? The Y is now hiring a child watch attendant. The qualified candidate will watch over, care for, and play with children ages 3 months to 10 years while their families participate in Y programs.
Employee must be flexible with hours and able to assist in clerical duties in the absence of children (Part time). Also, summer camp counselors and lead counselors positions are available. The folks must be energetic, dedicated, and loyal for the summer camp program. Staff will be asked to maintain state standards, safety, and a clean environment. All staff will be responsible for assisting with lesson plans and implementing them throughout the day. Full and part time is available. Marco and Naples locations are available. Applications can be picked up at the customer service desk.

Spring Adventure Camp runs from April 6-13. Only $80 for members and $90 for others.
Cheerleading classes start March 27. Open to boys and girls ages 4-13. Only $60 for members and $80 for others.
The 19th Annual Taste of Marco tickets are now available for sale at the customer service desk. Join the excitement at the Esplanade from 11 to 5 p.m., April 26, and enjoy the singing talents of Myles Loud. Admission is $5 per person and children under 12 are free with paid adult.
