Foreclosure workshop is in April

U.S. Senator Mel Martinez, a Florida Republican, has announced a foreclosure solutions workshop to be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, April 18, at Edison State College, 8099 College Parkway, Fort Myers.

This event is free, open to the public, and designed to connect lenders with constituents facing foreclosure in order to help them explore their options and assist them in preserving their home.

“Members of my staff, government agencies, and housing industry representatives will be available to assist residents impacted by the current housing crisis. Many hard-working Floridians have been hit by the crisis and we want to ensure those facing the prospect of losing their homes have all the information they need,” Martinez said.

The Office of Sen. Mel Martinez, Freddie Mac, Wachovia, Wells Fargo, Chase, Washington Mutual, Bank United, the Homeowner Resource Center, Consumer Credit Counseling Service and Cape Coral Housing Development Corp. will host this housing forum to provide assistance to those struggling to make their mortgage payments.

Lenders will be available for one-on-one assistance and are asking constituents seeking assistance to bring mortgage and financial documents to the forum. This forum is open to the public.
