Letter to the Editor: Disregard for truth

Disregard for truth

With a pitiful hunger to be noticed and an unfortunate disregard for truth, (see his references to POP), Marco’s most embarrassing City Council member, Wayne Waldack, keeps loudly denigrating anyone who dares to disagree, criticize or object in any manner to his beloved City Hall.

His latest attempt, “Open Letter to Bill McMullan” is testimony to Waldack’s unjustified high opinion of himself and his judgmental assessments of others. Mr. McMullan and his very worthy contributions to the Marco Island community, of course, need no defense. It is Waldack’s rationality, or lack thereof, that is worrisome.

Apparently, Waldack has concluded that his election to the City Council automatically requires and qualifies him to continually lecture the people of Marco Island.

Even more contemptible, Waldack consistently acts as if his primary responsibility lies in representing City Hall’s interests and not those of the voters. Elections can sometimes result in poor choices, of course, but frankly, folks, I think Waldack’s election will turn out to be one embarrassing beauty of a boo-boo! Bets, anyone?

Russ, This is like the kettle calling the pot black! Is it not you along with a small minority group that ranted for years as if you spoke for the whole islands interest? but, that wasn't the case at election time now was it? So on behalf of the majority that supports our council members give it a rest,go back to the cave and think of something more positive to consume your time with...

Russ, Mr. Waldack is simply a conduit for King John and his supporters. Mr Waldack is embarrassing and should be ignored. Whenever he tries to express his opinion during a council meeting, no one understands the point he is trying to make. He is pitiful and pathetic. King John encouraged him to run and strongly supported him. Waldack never believed he had a chance based on his past career efforts. How could a failure ever have come so far? King John worked hard for this fellow and Waldack owes King John much. He does not represent our residents, the voters or the City. He works directly for King John.
