Music to our ears

Those Islanders who did not visit the Farmer’s Market on March 25, missed a fabulous treat. The Marco Island Charter Middle School band was playing as we approached and I wondered what professional group had been recruited for the day.

I was astonished by the quality and perfection of the music being rendered by these seventh and eighth graders and the obvious enthusiasm of the musicians. Not an off-key tootle was to be heard.

I hope that there will be more opportunities to hear this group of fine musicians and that the time and place of the performance will be publicized so that we can take advantage of hearing such great music.
