Marco Island police briefs: April 3, 2009

MARCO ISLAND — DOMESTIC BATTERY

A domestic disturbance at 1700 Watson Road, March 22, at about 1:20 a.m., led to the arrest of Sharon Phillippi. Victim Dale Stephan reported that he had been struck by Phillippi. Stephan and Phillippi reside together at 1700 Watson Road. Phillippi was charged with battery and taken to jail.

THEFT OF BIKE

James Seifert reported that someone had taken his bicycle from a bike rack located at his home, 269 Vintage Bay Unit C20, between 5 p.m. March 16 and 9 a.m. March 21. The bike’s estimated value is $100.

THEFT OF SKATEBOARD

Chris Lahey reported that someone entered his unlocked vehicle parked at 700 South Collier Boulevard between 7:30 a.m. and 5 p.m. March 24. Lahey reported a skateboard worth about $100 had been stolen from the vehicle.

THEFT OF GPS

Catherin Shyan reported that someone entered her vehicle parked at 711 Rose Court between 9 p.m. March 25 and 10 a.m. March 26 and stole a GPS unit valued at approximately $120.

THEFT OF BICYCLES

Larry Mackey reported that someone had taken two of his bicycles from a storage shed located at his home, 411 South Collier Boulevard. Estimated value of the bikes is $180.

POSSESSION of MARIJUANA, POSSESSION of ALCOHOL, DAMAGE TO POLICE CAR

A traffic offense near 1200 North Collier Boulevard at 10:45 p.m. March 26 led to a stop by police and two arrests. Danny Hue, 18, of 8103 Sanctuary Road, Naples, and Tyler Jack Winfree, 18, of 2121 River Reach Drive unit 469, Naples, were taken to jail. Hue and Winfree were charged with possession of marijuana and possession of alcohol while under age 21. Hue also received an added charge of criminal mischief for damage caused to the police car he was being taken to jail in.

CRIMINAL MISCHIEF, SIGN DAMAGE

Several signs were damaged at the Marco Island Marriott Resort Golf Club and Spa, 400 South Collier Boulevard, between 8 a.m. March 25 and 7 p.m. March 26. The signs are worth about $400.

RESTRAINING ORDER VIOLATION

Margaret D. Martinez, 52, of 1399 Delbrook Way, Marco Island, was arrested and charged with violating a restraining order. She was taken to jail at about 3:16 p.m. March 27.
