Alligator Alley, SR 29 to remain open through the night if conditions allow

Interstate 75 and State Road 29 will remain open tonight, as long as conditions warrant. The roads will be closed if conditions deteriorate overnight.

Florida Highway Patrol units will be patrolling both Alligator Alley and SR 29. There are areas where the possibility of smoke and or fog may affect visibility. These areas are between mile markers 50 through 60 and 74 through 82. Drivers are advised to use caution on the Alley as driving conditions are subject to change quickly. Also there is a fire south of the alley near Collier Boulevard (County Road 951) with a possibility of smoke and fog between mile markers 84 through 96.

The agency reminds the public to drive cautiously and defensively as road conditions may change quickly.
