Summer is almost here. And the Art League of Bonita Springs is offering over 125 summer art camps. Serving both Lee and Collier Counties, Art League camps for youth ages 4 through teens begin June 15 and run weekly through August 21. The half-day camps are designed to educate and entertain with engaging, creative activities. The schedule has great flexibility. Morning camps are from 9 a.m. to noon and afternoon camps are from 1 to 4 p.m. A supervised lunch is available for those attending both morning and afternoon camps. Before camp and after camp care programs are also available.

Camps are divided by age and theme. The youngest campers, ages 4-5, enjoy something new and different each day in “Young at Art.” Stories, music, art projects and group games combine to make “Young at Art” irresistible and entertaining.

Level 1 (ages 6-8), Level 2 (ages 9-11), and Level 3 (ages 12-15-plus) camps offer a wide variety of choices from designing computer games to cooking and working in clay to dance or theater. Some camps follow a specific theme like dinos or dragons; while others offer an array of ideas. A great deal of thought and preparation has gone into the design of each unique camp to ensure campers explore new, artistic techniques, and expand their imagination.

The Art League holds fund raising events throughout the year to make sure that any child who wishes to attend camp may do so with the help of a scholarship. Scholarship applications and Summer Art Camp catalogs can be obtained at the Center for the Arts or downloaded via the Art League web site: www.artcenterbonita.org. Call the Art League today to register for the camps of your choice.

“We’ve made sure there is a scholarship waiting for every child who wishes to participate. Our summer programs provide opportunities to learn something new and exciting, have fun and make friends all at the same time. From music, theater, and dance to sculpture, fashion design, fused glass, painting, computer arts, animation and film. It’s all here at the Center for the Arts,” said executive director, Susan Bridges.
