Constantly on the lookout for extra funds for the Marco Island Charter Middle School, volunteers have organized a Laughter for a Cause night, Sunday, Nov. 8, at the Off the Hook Comedy Club.
In the house will be Canadian comedian Ian Bagg, who has been on the American circuit for more than a decade. He has appeared at numerous comedy festivals, stand-up spots on HBO Showcase Comics and performances on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, as well as The Late Late Show with Craig Kilborn and Craig Ferguson. One of his most unusual assignments was working for the History Channel – on the history of jokes.
Chairing the fundraiser featuring Bagg is Lori Havemeier, who said tickets are on sale at $20, of which $17 will go directly to the school. The show begins 9 p.m. Tickets are available at the school lobby and in the car loop at the close of school. The school’s number is 377-3200.
