— A deceased woman found in a parked car at a Bonita Springs ice cream parlor was laying in the backseat of an otherwise undisturbed vehicle, a Collier County Sheriff's Office incident report states.

The body of Susan Lynn Cooper, 54, of Bonita Springs, was discovered Thursday morning inside a green Honda parked at the Royal Scoop Homemade Ice Cream shop.

The cause of death remains unclear, and the report gives no indication of possible injuries.

According to the report, Cooper lay on her left side in the back seat, facing the car's front. She was dressed in a red-and-white striped shirt and blue jeans. The doors of the car were locked, and no keys were found in the ignition, although a denim purse sat in the front passenger seat.

"There did not appear to be anything disturbed in the vehicle," the report stated.

Cooper had been declared missing by her family on Oct. 30.

The car, parked in a far corner of the lot, was first noticed by a pair of ice cream shop employees on Monday, the report stated. They finally approached it on Thursday and noticed the body. An employee told deputies it wasn't uncommon for people to leave their cars in the lot.

Collier County sheriff's detectives are investigating a dead body found in a parked car at a Bonita Springs business.

A bystander reported the body, which was inside a car parked for several days by Royal Scoop Homemade Ice Cream, at 15 8th St., according to a Sheriff's Office spokeswoman.

Detectives confirmed the presence of the body around 11:30 a.m. and began a death investigation, the spokeswoman said.

The car, a green Honda with a California license plate, is parked in a far corner of the lot on the side closest to 8th Street. It appears undisturbed from the outside and the visible interior. The body is inside the car, deputies say, but it is not visible from beyond the crime scene perimeter.

A black SUV with a Florida tag is parked beside the car. It's unclear if the vehicle is part of the scene.

Crime scene technicians arrived around 12:45 p.m. and are processing the scene.
