East Naples golf outing a success

In its first fundraising event, the East Naples Foundation raised more than $10,000 in its charity golf outing at Naples Lakes Country Club.

Funds from the event will support various East Naples Civic Association community endeavors. The event was a tremendous success, with 130 supporters that participated in the event by offering awards and providing raffle prizes.

There were 27 sponsors, which included the Southwest Florida Golf Charities, Inc., SCORE Naples, Bahama Breeze Island Grill, Erin’s Isle and other businesses and individuals within East Naples. In addition to having a $10,000 cash award available for a hole-in-one, there were five country clubs offering prizes for closest-to-the-pin and closest-to-the-line awards, together with 26 businesses that offered gift certificates for raffle prizes.

There were 72 players in the scramble format tournament, which had two flights.

Flight A winners were, first: Frank Carman, Mike Kincanon, Fred Sorrento Bill Duffy; second: Joe Bernard, Bryan Murphy, Ron Carneiro and Joe Banas; third: Christ Roberts, Roy Arigo, Harvey Lewis and Tom Storrar.

Flight B winners were, first: David Bryant, Larry Martin, Charles Willey and Andrea Hermann; second: Rick and Linda Strotman, Michael and Carol Haupt; third: Jim and Vivien Meehan, Bud and Martina Jennings.
