Back by popular demand is our exciting Fall Art & Craft Festival. This event premiers 18 artists who are members of the Art League and will be held on from 10 a.m.-4 p.m., Nov. 21, on the Art Center grounds at 1010 Winterberry Drive.
Be sure to place the Fall Art & Craft show on your calendar, as it is a wonderful way to support the very creative artists in our midst. All art and very selective crafts are the original design of the exhibitors. This once a year show is your chance to discover the truly exceptional and talented artists from your Art League, Marco Island’s Center for the Arts. You will have a great opportunity to buy an exciting piece of art, often by a neighbor you know, for yourself or as a gift for that special person in time for the holidays.
This annual show provides a cultural event for the entire community and highlights the jewel of our Island. You will have just one day to view these original fine arts and crafts. Featured will be original works in oil; watercolor; acrylic; multi-media painting; jewelry; glass; sculpture; wood; photography; and pottery by the exceptional artists from Marco Island’s Center for the Arts. A suggested donation of $2 is requested.
Participating artists: oil painters Phyllis Pransky, Tara O’Neill, Inez Hudson; wood sculptor Veli Lapinoja; glass artist Harriet Broder; jewelers Amanda Ganong, Marie Sunquist and Shirley McCaffrey; sculptors Carl Wagner and Charles Kirker; photographers Barry Howe and Carol Kinkead; mixed media artist Betty Newman; acrylic painters Jo-Ann Sanborn and Tracy Gudgel; watercolorist Linda Taffe; multimedia artist Alcides Godines; fiber artist Kathy Schetterer; and members of the Art League Marco Island’s Center for the Arts Clay Guild.
During the event, the Center for the Arts will also be open for visitors. This provides an opportunity to view the Charles M. Wetzel Retrospective and exhibit, featuring works by the Art League’s first president. The exhibit is a concentration of original paintings depicting the Seminole Lifestyle and Marco Island, circa 1960-1970.
