At the Y, Christmas is in the air.

Are you ready for some turkey? Are you ready for some football? Are you ready for the Black Friday bargains at area merchants? Well, if you’re ready for all of those wonderful things, you should surely be ready for working out in the Y fitness center, swimming in the pool, taking an aerobics class or playing in a round robin tennis match.

A day pass is only $10 for an adult 18 and over, or a family pass is available for $15. If you want to play tennis, it’s $5 per person per hour. Some folks are only on the island for a short time. If so, a monthly membership is $92 for one person or $133 for a family. Next week, the Y will be open its regular business hour schedule, but will be closed for Thanksgiving. We are open Monday through Thursday, except this Thursday, from 5 a.m. to 9 p.m., Fridays from 5 a.m. to 8 p.m., Saturdays from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sundays from 7:45 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Now, let’s discuss programs that are being offered at the Y. The tennis courts are going to be resurfaced this week and here is the schedule: courts 7 and 8 on Monday, courts 5 and 6 on Tuesday, courts 3 and 4 on Wednesday and courts 1 and 2 on Friday. Members continue to get 24-hour priority court reservation, so be sure to call the front desk at 394-3144, ext. 0. Speaking of Tennis, thanks to all of you who came to the Y Tennis Social to meet the new Tennis Program Coordinator, Missy Saracino.

Missy will be taking the place of Autum Golden, who is going on a maternity leave from the Y. If you have any questions about the round robins or other tennis-related issues please call Missy at 394-3144, ext. 224. Also, birthday wishes go out to Golden from all of us at the Greater Marco Family YMCA. She celebrated her birthday on Nov. 17.

Thanksgiving Drop-in days is scheduled for Wednesday, Nov. 25 and Friday, Nov. 27 from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Join us for this mini- camp, only $20 for members and $25 for community members.
