Join the Art League Marco Island’s Center for the Arts as they host a fine art & craft exhibit that celebrates “Those Who Can Do.”
The exhibit features 20 instructors of the Art League and will be featured in the Lauritzen/Rush Galleries. An opening reception to meet the artist instructors will take place during the Art League’s monthly First Tuesday Art @ Five Social from 5:30 until 7 p.m., Dec. 1. Special musical guest Frank Carroll will perform. Admission to the reception is $10 for guests and $5 for members. Refreshments are provided with admission and include wine & beer as well as light snacks.
This exhibit of the League’s artist celebrities highlights the wide variety of educational opportunities available at Marco Island’s Center for the Arts. Visitors will view completed original works by the artist instructor that represent the programs that each specializes in. The media to be viewed includes paintings, including watercolor, oil, acrylic, pastel, Chinese brush, and faux painting samples; in addition to works in clay, stone and basket weaving.
The First Tuesday reception provides the opportunity to meet the artist instructors and speak with them one on one to gain insight on their teaching techniques and explore the expectations of the classes being offered.
As has become the tradition with the kick off of Project Rescue – Saving Marco’s Art League, this reception coincides with the First Tuesday Art @ Five Social and the monthly island wide 50/50 raffle drawing will also take place during this event. In addition to purchasing tickets at the Art League, the following businesses are supporting the Project Rescue effort and also have tickets available for purchase: Marco Office Supply, CJ’s on the Bay, Video Store at Town Center, Marco Island Florist, Island Liquors, Sunshine Ace Hardware, Artist Colony @ Esplanade, Marco Ace Hardware, Sunshine Booksellers (North & South Locations), House of Mozart, Curves for Women, Orion Bank, Rick’s Island Salon & Spa, The Chef’s Express, Cedar Bay Yacht Club, AutoCraft, Caldwell Banker Residential Real Estate, Susie’s Diner, Empire Bagel Factory, Kay’s on the Beach, Modern Nails, Iron Rhino, American Computer Solutions, Marco Area Chamber of Commerce, Angelica’s Boutique, Joe’s Barber Shop, Blue Mangrove Gallery, Amantea Gallery, Artist Colony Waterfront Studio @ Esplanade and Old Marco Lodge, Goodland.
