The Florida Highway Patrol has identified the man involved in a one-vehicle collision with a tree this morning on Airport-Pulling Road as Kenneth P. Doerselin Jr.
Doerselin, 48, of Naples, was driving a 1988 Ford SUV southbound on Airport Road when he struck a tree in the median north of Timberwood Circle, according to FHP reports.
The report lists Doerselin's injuries as serious, but a duty officer earlier said the driver was out of surgery and resting at Lee Memorial Health Park.

The driver of a sports utility vehicle that hit a tree along Airport-Pulling Road was taken in critical condition to a Lee County hospital, the Florida Highway Patrol reported.
The crash victim, a 47- or 48-year-old male, was out of surgery at Lee Memorial Health Park and resting, according to FHP.

A medical helicopter was called to the scene of an accident on Airport-Pulling Road this morning.
The Florida Highway Patrol received a call in reference to the accident at 6:19 a.m. Monday.
Authorities shut down Airport Pulling Road from Timberwood Circle to Pine Wood Circle for about a half hour. The driver has been described as in critical condition.
