Irene Horowitz, director of education for Gulfshore Playhouse, is again teaching acting for grades 1 to 5 starting from 3:15-4:15 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 8, at the Art League Marco Island’s Center for the Arts.
Horowitz brings years of experience as an acting teacher and coach in New York City and Charlotte, N.C. Set in a non-threatening, creative environment, her method takes her students on an exciting and fun journey through the creative process of learning what it takes to act. Participants will see their characters come to life while learning breathing and projection exercises, theater games, pantomime and improvisation, as well as how scenes are developed.
Classes will be held through May 2010 and all experience levels are welcome. Cost is $65per student for a four-week session. Register at the Art League, 1010 Winterberry Drive or online at marcoislandart.com. For more information call 394-42221.
