Adopt a dog month

Domestic Animal Services will be giving away discount packages to anyone who adopts a dog during October. Adopt a dog for $85 and get a free veterinarian consultation, a discounted or free dog training session, and discounts at local pet retailers. Floral designs

Ikebana International will meet at 9 a.m. Wednesday at Moorings Presbyterian Church, 791 Harbour Drive, Moss hall, Naples. Carol Brocklesby will demonstrate these unique designs and how to use papryus. Information: 464-5039

Interview seminar

Achievements and accolades

* Greg Graham is the new chief executive officer of the Southwest Florida Council of the Boy Scouts of America.

* Geraldine Novy of Naples received the Bill E. Beckwith/Memory Management Best of Show Award and Joel Shapses of Naples won the Wednesday Studio second place award in memory of Margaret Diephouse for the non juried “Show of Shows” exhibit at the von Liebig Art Center.
