Here are our recommendations for two things to do on Wednesday and Thursday, Oct. 7-8, 2009:
WEDNESDAY: Learn about Southwest Florida’s original inhabitants — the Calusa. The Collier County Museum host a lecture on the pre-Columbian mound building people at 2 p.m. The program kicks off a new exhibition on the indiginous people of Florida. The free program will be held at 3301 U.S. 41 E. 252-8476.
THURSDAY: Take a guided of Norris Garden and then explore Palm Cottage from 10 to 11 a.m. at 137 12th Ave. S. The tour is free to members and is $8 for adults and $5 for children younger than 12. 261-8164.
