PHOTOS: Vacant home in Estates destroyed by fire

A vacant home burned to the ground this afternoon in Golden Gate Estates.

Golden Gate firefighters were called to a two-story wood frame home at 2921 32nd Ave. S.E. around 12:20 p.m., Chief Dave Anderson said. When they arrived, the house was fully engulfed in flames.

"Nobody is living in here," Anderson said.

Initial reports indicated that there might have been barrels full of chemicals inside the home, but Anderson said that did not appear to be the case.

No one was injured fighting the blaze, and the cause remains under investigation by the State Fire Marshall’s Office.
