Fun day

North Naples United Methodist will sponsor a family fun day from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. today at 6000 Goodlette-Frank Road, Naples. The event includes a bounce house, face painting, story telling and games. Proceeds benefit the youth ministries. The church will also have a pumpkin patch from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily. Grand opening

A kid’s fair will be held in celebration of the grand opening of the Destiny Learning Center at Restoration Church from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. today at 7690 Running Buck Court, Naples. Musical extravaganza

Bethel African Methodist Episcopal Church of Naples is sponsoring a musical extravaganza at 5 p.m. today at 2935 64th St. SW, Naples. Free. Information: 248-6274

Simchat Torah

A Simchat Torah celebration will be held at 7:30 p.m. today at the Chabad Center, 850 Seagate Drive, Naples. The celebration includes dancing with the Torah, refreshments and a children’s program. Information: 262-4474

Taize services

St. Mary’s Episcopal Church will have a Taize service of prayer, praise and reflection at 7 p.m. Sunday at 9801 Bonita Beach Road, Bonita Springs. The service will feature classical guitarist Anders Franzen. Information: 992-4343

Pumpkin patch

East Naples United Methodist Church will sell pumpkins at its Pumpkin Patch from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily starting Monday at 2701 Airport-Pulling Road S., Naples. The church’s thrift store, the Bargain Nook, has many Halloween costumes for sale that start at $2.50. The store is open from 8 a.m. to noon on Thursdays and 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturdays.

Aging eyes

Vanderbilt Presbyterian Church will present Dr. Stephen Pascucci from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at 1225 Piper Blvd., Naples. Pascucci talk is titled “Aging Eyes” and will discuss how eyes change as you grow older. Free. Information: 597-5410

Christian Women’s Connection

Bonita Springs-Estero Christian Women’s Connections will meet from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday at Pelican Sound Golf & River Club, 4561 Pelican Sound Blvd., Estero. Golf seminar

Health care forum

St. Monica’s Episcopal Church will present a national issues forum on coping with the high cost of health care from 9 a.m. to noon at 7070 Immokalee Road, Naples. Book of acts

The Church Without Walls Biblical Scholarship Series will meet from 7 to 9 p.m. Oct. 18 and 25 at 10202 Vanderbilt Drive, Naples to introduce a film for the study of “Book of Acts.” Donation. Information: 591-4565

Temple Shalom Sisterhood

Author Maggie Anton will speak at a luncheon for Temple Shalom’s Sisterhood at 11:30 a.m. Oct. 21 at 4630 Pine Ridge Road, Naples. Anton wrote the historical fiction “Rashi’s Daughters.” A book signing will follow. $25. Information: 348-8713

Torah donated to Chabad Naples

Chabad Naples has received a Torah from the early 1900’s from Sam and Trudy Adwar. The Torah was buried in Warsaw, Poland in 1940 and resurrected after World War II and brought to the United States. It comes to Naples by way of Brentwood, N.Y., and is going to be repaired in New York City. Information: 404-6993

Donations needed

First Baptist Church of Estero’s Youth Ministry needs donations of clothing, furniture, tools, appliance and other items for a rummage sale that will take place on Nov. 21. Call 273-4556 for a pick-up.
