Here are our recommendations for things to do each day, Sunday-Monday, Oct. 18-19, 2009:
SUNDAY: It’s the first day of Ding Darling Days, a birding and eco-festival, at J.N. “Ding” Darling National Wildlife Refuge on Sanibel Island. The festival includes tram tours, presentations, a touch tank, butterfly house and children’s nature crafts. It’s from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Call 472-1100 or visit dingdarlingdays.com for event schedule.
MONDAY: Learn about those beautiful shells you collect. Go beachcombing and shelling at 10 a.m. at Barefoot Beach Preserve on Lely Beach Road in Bonita Springs. It starts at the learning center and is free. Parking is free with a Collier County parking sticker. 252-4024
