The Bonita Springs Fire District is to be commended on their Oct. 10 open house at Station 4 on Bonita Grande Road. The children were enthralled chasing the robot fire truck around and we were fascinated watching them have such a good time. Of course the hot dogs were a hit and were cooked just right. Thanks once again to our firefighters for a job well done in welcoming the community and planning a great day.
Sunday buffet has made a special addition that was warmly received. We now have an oatmeal station that was a delicious big hit with its raisins and brown sugar.
Mary Kay Lucek organized the appreciation to thank Millie Hazel, our summer aquatic exercise leader. We thank Millie’s faithfulness all summer. Mary Kay always makes the luncheon special with her wonderful dessert. Janet Zago added her biscotti for a nice touch. They are especially appreciated by those of us who have forgotten the way around a kitchen.
The summer Red Hatters enjoyed a soup and salad bar at our annual luncheon at our grill. It was a nice change from ordering from the menu. The dessert committee produced a delicious array of cookies. Our thanks go to Carol Manzek, Betty Berends and Janet Zago. Twenty gals stayed to play Krazy Kards. Dee Liska was top scorer with 4090. Helen Derr followed with 3970 and I followed with 3730. Maybe Vivian Oswald will share her score if you ask her.
It’s time for all house cleaning and setting aside all those items you no longer use for our Drive Through The Park yard sale. All you new residents will be surprised at the large number of people who will be out looking for a bargain they just won’t be able to refuse.
If you are considering the popular two day trip, December 15 and 16, to see ICE (and more), remember that our motor coach seating is limited and we are down to our last nine seats. Check out the bulletin boards for this economical and fun-packed trip. You won’t want to miss out on one of the last available seats.
