Multimedia design business launched
Double Lunar Media is a new company that utilizes innovative techniques, specializes in identifying the clients’ needs, creates a brand, designs a user-friendly Web site and promotes the Web site to a target market.
Southwest Florida clients include Bear’s Plumbing, Inc., Superior Swim Systems and Trudy Labell Fine Art.
Cory Steelman, who launched Double Lunar Media, is a 2007 graduate of Gulf Coast High School. In May he received his bachelor’s degree in digital arts and design from Full Sail University and was awarded a Certificate of Excellence. He has interned at the Orlando Sentinel, where he produced creative Web graphics, video graphics, video features, photography, online production, and Web components that enhanced their company Web sites. Gulf Coast Town Center offers Halloween nights
Gulf Coast Town Center is once again offering families two nights of Halloween fun for the third year in a row.
The festivities begin Friday, Oct. 23, with a PETCO Halloween Costume Contest followed the next week by trick-or-treating and a kids costume contest to be held Thursday, Oct. 29. Both events will take place on the main stage in Market Plaza and will kick-off with the original Zombie Dance from Michael Jackson’s “Thriller” video presented by Cheryl Sington, owner of The Dance Warehouse in Fort Myers and one of the original dancers in the Michael Jackson “Thriller” video in the '80s.
All are invited to bring their pets to Gulf Coast Town Center on Friday, Oct. 23, for the third annual PETCO Pet Costume Contest. Registration is from 5 to 7:30 p.m. in front of Borders or pre-register by calling PETCO at (239) 432-2869. The contest is limited to 500 pets. There will be a first-place prize of $1,000, a second-place prize package to PETCO worth $500 and a third-place prize package to Gulf Coast Town Center worth $250. Take your pet to visit the following pet-friendly restaurants at Gulf Coast Town Center: Aurelio’s Pizza, Bar Louie, Calistoga Bakery Cafe, Carrabba’s, Firepit City Grille, Islamorada Fish Co., Moe’s Southwest Grill and Rita’s Ice.
Return Thursday, Oct. 29, for kids trick-or-treating and a costume contest. Trick-or-treating is from 6 to 8 p.m. with merchants handing out candy on Main Street. The kids costume contest will begin at 7 p.m. and all youngsters up to 10 years old are eligible. Age groups will be categorized between 0-3, 3-4 and 7-10 years old. There will be a first-place prize package worth $100, a second -place package worth $75, and a third place prize package worth $50 will be awarded to the winners in each age category. Overall prizes will be awarded to the kids with the cutest, scariest and most original costumes. Registration for the costume contest will take place between 5 and 6:45 p.m. at the News-Press Customer Service Center, located by Borders.
